Archer-Daniels-Midland Company is an American multinational food processing company that manufactures and supplies a wide variety of food commodities and products.
It is a global leader in human and animal nutrition and offers various products, including vegetable oil, protein meal, corn sweeteners, flour, biodiesel, ethanol, and other value-added food and feed ingredients. The company also has a grain elevator and transportation network to procure, store, clean, and transport agricultural commodities, such as oilseeds, corn, wheat, milo, oats, and barley, as well as processed agricultural commodities.
ADM operations are managed and classified into three reportable business segments: Ag Services and Oilseeds, Carbohydrate Solutions, and Nutrition.
The Ag Services and Oilseeds segment includes activities related to the origination, merchandising, crushing, and further processing of oilseeds such as soybeans and soft seeds, such as cottonseed, sunflower seed, canola, rapeseed, and flaxseed into vegetable oils and protein meals. Under this segment, ADM generated approx. 49,000 million USD in the year 2019.
The Carbohydrate Solutions segment engages in corn wet milling and dry milling activities; and also converts corn into sweeteners, starches, and bio-products. Under this segment, the company generated approx. 10,000 million USD in the year 2019.
The Nutrition segment provides customer needs for food, beverages, health and wellness, and more. This segment generated approx. 6,000 million USD in the year 2019.

Joint Ventures:

- In 2019, ADM completed the acquisitions of Neovia, a French-based global provider of value-added animal nutrition solutions, with 72 production facilities and a presence in 25 countries; Florida Chemical Company (FCC), one of the world’s largest producers of citrus oils and ingredients; and The Ziegler Group (Ziegler), a leading European provider of natural citrus flavor ingredients.
